Clearer alerts where people need to act

Grid Continuity develops fixed-location alerting and communications continuity concepts for places where people may miss, misunderstand, or be unable to act on an urgent warning. MAST is our emerging hospitality pilot concept, designed to evaluate how a property could turn relevant alerts into clear, local prompts for staff and guests.

The problem

A hotel may receive information through several channels during a weather event, utility outage, or other disruption. An alert reaching a phone or front desk does not, by itself, show that the right people noticed it, understood its urgency, or received a prompt at the location where they need to act.

What MAST is designed to evaluate

MAST explores a closed-loop approach: receive an alert, classify its urgency, deliver an appropriate audible or visual prompt to selected locations, and record whether the prompt was acknowledged. The concept also examines practical continuity when normal power or internet service is impaired.

The pilot would focus on a limited, agreed test area and defined scenarios. It would document alert delivery, timing, acknowledgment, usability, and operational constraints before any broader deployment is considered.

Hospitality pilot inquiry

Grid Continuity is seeking a hotel partner for a controlled evaluation of the MAST concept. The initial discussion would identify the property’s operational needs, approved vendor requirements, appropriate test locations, and a test plan that hotel management can review.
